Curasound, is a project to empower.|
A talent development program created for young vocalists and producers in Curacao, that aims to help them grow and develop further in their musical career.
The program welcomes all the disciplines within the music industry and embraces passion and desire for collaboration. The mission of this project is to uncover the authentic ‘sound’ of the island as propagated by the youth culture.
The project started in 2022 with its first edition in Curacao during the month of November. The goal of this initiative is to develop a ‘blueprint’ to connect young talent with established artists. Therefore, encourage them both to deepen themselves artistically in the culture of their island and to uncover the (current) sound of their island. For the first edition the turn was for the beautiful island of Curacao.
The first edition of curasound was warmly embraced by those who participated, giving extra drive and motivation to repeat and expand the project! This edition consisted of writing sessions, producer collaborations, studio recordings and numerous masterclasses which at the end created a number of tracks that will be released this year. Stay tuned!
For the first edition the session were facilitated by 3 main coaches/producers. Michael Wanga (Karpachii), Joshua Martina (Tèrá Kora) and Matt Bonilla. These coaches will be back for the next season, along with some new, interesting additions
The first edition of Curasound will release an EP of three songs, created during the studio sessions of the project by the participants and the coaches of the project. The name of the EP is: Curasound.
Through these three songs the potential and the talent of these artists from Curacao is captured, supported and promoted to be spread across the island, to Europe and further.
